The Occultist is an important vendor in Diablo 4, that can help you extract and imprint Aspects! He can also assist with the creation of Sigils, which are necessary to unlock harder Dungeons in the game. Both of these functions make the Occultist a vital NPC for your time in Diablo 4, since he is important for strengthening your character but also for accessing new content!

Occultist Functions in Diablo 4

You can find the Occultist in every main town in the various zones of Sanctuary. Become familiar with his location on the map, since you will be visiting him often!

The Occultist offers four main functions:

  • Imprint Aspect
  • Extract Aspect
  • Craft Sigils
  • Salvage Sigils
  • Enchanting

Imprint and Extract Aspects in Diablo 4

Aspects are powerful effects that you can use to strengthen your gear! You can get Aspects by either completing one of the many available Dungeons in Diablo 4 or by being lucky and dropping a great piece of gear. With the help of the Occultist you can extract Aspects from gear you do not want to use, in order to imprint it later to your chosen gear! When you extract an Aspect from gear, it goes to your inventory in a special Aspect Tab from where you can use it later for imprinting.

It is possible to imprint Aspects you get from gear but also Aspects you collect from Dungeons! These Aspects unlock an entry to your Codex of Power and are easier to obtain. However Aspects that you collect this way will always offer the lowest roll when you imprint them, while Aspects you have extracted from gear have a chance to offer higher stats!

Craft & Salvage Sigils in Diablo 4

Sigils are an another important part of Diablo 4, because they can unlock Nightmare Dungeons! When you have a Sigil you can basically transform a Dungeon into a Nightmare one, by adding effects(Afflictions) to the enemies and environment inside. This increases the difficulty of the Dungeon but also the loot and overall rewards! With the help of the Occultist it is also possible to Salvage Sigils!

Enchanting in Diablo 4

Enchanting allows you to reroll affixes in your gear, in the hope that you will get a more desirable stat. This can help you transform a piece of gear into a powerful part of your armor and become stronger overall.
