The Necromancer is the sixth class of The Elder Scrolls Online. A highly anticipated new class that is coming to ESO with the Elsweyr chapter.
One of the most exciting new features of the new chapter, that like the other five classes already in-game, is promising flexibility and the opportunity to fulfil many different roles.
This is partially thanks to its three unique skill-lines that are focusing on different gameplay aspects each, like damage dealing, healing or tanking but also because to the Magicka and Stamina morphs most skills have to offer.
The Necromancer will rely heavily on corpses to be effective. Necromancers can take advantage of dead enemies to summon creatures but also create corpses themselves to be more effective.
This new class adds another interesting role playing aspect to the game as well. Since Necromancy is forbidden in Tamriel, you should be careful where you cast your necromantic abilities.
If NPC see you performing specific necromantic actions will call the guards to attack you and you will also receive a bounty.
A nice little detail that makes ESO feel more alive!
The three skill-lines of the Necromancer class are Grave Lord, Bone Tyrant and Living Death.
Grave Lord is the Necromancer skills line that is focusing on damage dealing. The player can use the elements to hurt its enemies but also raise undeads to attack them.
Flame Skull : Lob an explosive skull at an enemy, dealilng x Flame Damage. Every third cast of this ability deals 20% increased damage.
Morph 1 : Venom Skull, deals poison damage.
Morph 2 : Ricochet Skull, deals flame damage and can bounce to other enemies.
Blastbones : Summon a flaming skeleton from the ground after 2.5 seconds. The skeleton runs after the target and explodes when it gets close to them, dealing x Flame Damage to all enemies nearby. Creates a corpse on death.
Morph 1 : Blighted Blastbones, deals disease damage and applies Major Defile.
Morph 2 : Stalking Blastbones, deals increased flame damage based on the time spent chasing its target.
Boneyard : Desecrate the ground at the target location, dealing x Frost Damage over 10 seconds. Consumes a corpse on cast to deal 20% more damage. An ally standing in the graveyard can activate the Grave Robber synergy, dealing x Frost Damage to enemies in the area and healing you for the damage done.
Morph 1 : Unnerving Boneyard, deals frost damage, applies Major Breach & Major Fracture and offers the Grave Robber synergy.
Morph 2 : Avid Boneyard, deals frost damage and you can use your own synergy.
Skeletal Mage : Unearth a skeletal mage from the dirt to fight by your side for 16 seconds. The mage attacks the closest enemy every 2 seconds, dealing x Shock Damage. Creates a corpse on death.
Morph 1 : Skeletal Archer, summon an archer that deals physical damage
Morph 2 : Exploding Arcanist, summon a mage that attacks with shock damage.
Shocking Siphon : Violently drain the last spark of life from a corpse, dealing x Shock Damage over 12 seconds to all enemies around the corpse and between you and the corpse. While Slotted, your damage done is increased by 3%.
Morph 1 : Detonating Siphon, deals physical damage and the corpse explodes.
Morph 2 : Mystic Siphon, deals shock damage and restore magicka.
Frozen Colossus : Unleash a frostbitten Flesh Colossus to pulverize enemies in the area. The Colossus smashes the ground three times over 3 seconds, dealing x Frost Damage with each smash. Each smash applies Major Vulnerability to any enemy hit for 3 seconds, increasing their damage taken by 30%.
Morph 1 : Pestilent Colossus, deals disease damage.
Morph 2 : Glacial Colossus, deals frost damage and stuns enemies.
Reusable Parts, Death Knell, Dismember, Rapid Rot.
Bone Tyrant is the Necromancer skills line that is focusing on Tanking. The player can cast buffs to protect himself and transform into a powerful Bone Goliath.
Death Scythe : Slice into your enemy’s life force, dealing 4324 Magic Damage and healing you for 2908 for the first enemy hit. The heal grows in power by 969 for each additional enemy hit, up to five times. This portion of the ability scales off your Max Health.
Morph 1 : Ruinous Scythe, deals physical damage and prevents enemies from healing.
Morph 2 : Swift Scythe, deals magic damage and heals over time.
Bone Armor : Wrap yourself in hardened bone, granting you Major Resolve and Major Ward, increasing your Physical Resistance and Spell Resistance by 5280 for 17 seconds. Creates a corpse when the effect completes.
Morph 1 : Summoner’s Armor, reduces the cost of summoning undead.
Morph 2 : Beckoning Armor, pulls in ranged enemies.
Bitter Harvest : Snap the lingering life from fresh corpses granting you 2 Ultimate and healing you for 721 every 1 second for 2 seconds per corpse consumed. This ability scales off of your Max Health. While slotted, your damage taken is reduced by 3%.
Morph 1 : Deaden Pain, gain Major Protection.
Morph 2 : Necrotic Potency, gain more Ultimate.
Bone Totem : Place a totem of bone at your feet that gives Minor Protection to you and your allies for 8 seconds, reducing your damage taken by 8%. After 2 seconds, the totem instills fear to enemies, holding them in place for 4 seconds.
Morph 1 : Agony Totem, applies minor vulnerability to enemies and offers a synergy.
Morph 2 : Remote Totem, increases the range you can summon the totem.
Grave Grasp : Summon three patches of skeletal claws from the ground in front of you, snaring your enemies by 50% for 5 seconds and inflicting Minor Maim for 5 seconds, reducing their damage done by 15%.
Morph 1 : Ghostly Embrace, immobilizes targets.
Morph 2 : Empowering Grasp, empowers allies and buffs your undead.
Bone Goliath Transformation : Become a horrific Bone Goliath, increasing your Max Health by 30000 for 20 seconds and immediately restoring 30000 Health. While transformed, your light attacks restore 387 Health and your fully charged heavy attacks restore 969 Health. This ability scales off your Max Health.
Morph 1 : Pummeling Goliath, additional AOE bash attack.
Morph 2 : Ravenous Goliath, additional aura that drains health from enemies.
Death Gleaning, Disdain Harm, Health Avarice, Last Gasp.
Living Death is the Necromancer skills line that is focusing on healing.
Render Flesh : Sacrifice your own power to repair damaged flesh, healing you or an ally in front of you for x Health but applying Minor Defile to yourself for 4 seconds, reducing your healing received and Health Recovery by 16%.
Morph 1 : Resistant Flesh, give to your target resistances equal to half the amount healed.
Morph : Blood Sacrifice, consumes a corpse to heal a second target.
Expunge : Embrace the power of death, removing up to 2 negative effects from yourself. While slotted, the cost of all your abilities is reduced by 3%.
Morph 1 : Hexproof, increases the amount of negative effects removed.
Morph 2 : Expunge and Modify, restore Magicka and Stamina for each negative effect removed.
Life amid Death : Release residual fragments of fallen souls at the target location, healing you and your allies for 4542 Health. Consumes a corpse on cast to continue to heal you and your allies in the area for 4390 Health over 5 seconds.
Morph 1 : Renewing Undeath, consuming a corpse also removes negative effects.
Morph 2 : Enduring Undeath, consume multiple corpses to increase duration.
Spirit Mender : Conjure a ghostly spirit to do your bidding and stay by your side for 16 seconds. The spirit heals you or the lowest Health ally around you every 2 seconds, restoring x Health. Creates a corpse on death.
Morph 1 : Spirit Guardian, some of the damage taken is transferred to the spirit.
Morph 2 : Intensive Mender, the spirit heals for more but lasts less.
Restoring Tether : Siphon the last remnants of life from a corpse, healing for 12204 Health over 12 seconds to yourself and all allies between you and the corpse. While slotted, your healing done is increased by 3%.
Morph 1 : Mortal Coil, you restore Stamina while siphoning the corpse.
Morph 2 : Braided Tether, heals allies in a radius around you.
Reanimate : Bring your allies back from the brink of death, resurrecting up to 3 allies at the target location.
Morph 1 : Renewing Animation, restore magicka and stamina for each ally you resurrect.
Morph 2 : Animate Blastbones, consumes corpses and summons blastbones.
Curative Curse, Near-Death Experience, Corpse Consumption, Undead Confederate.
