ESO A Cage That Shines Rumor
A Cage that Shines is a Rumor in ESO that belongs to the “Conspiracy” category and is one of the three available rumors inside the Nowhere Vault. Rumors are a special type of quests in The Elder Scrolls Online that offer no quest markers or HUD assistance.

“The Nowhere Vault conceals many secrets. Venture beyond the well-worn paths of the Arcanum Wing and see what you uncover.“
How to Start A Cage that Shines Rumor
To start this Rumor, enter the Arcanum Wing in the Nowhere Vault and complete the following steps:
- Collect Watcher Filtration Gills
- Acquire Fungal Sight
- Get Subjugating Mindspore
- Collect Timeward Seal
- Break the Seal
1. Collect Watcher Filtration Gills
Enter the Hunt of the Watchers room. Collect five Seeker Glyph Keys and unlock the sealed area. This completes the room but do not leave yet. Get the Shrill Whistle found in the area and lure the only Watcher with a Sigil above him to the Runic Prison.
Use the Whistle when the watcher enters the area to make him vulnerable. You can now defeat him and collect the Watcher Filtration Gills.
2. Acquire Fungal Sight
With the Watcher Filtration Gills acquired start the Trial in Murky Grotto room. Stand on top of the Toxic Bud and outheal the poison damage. Do not kill toxic plants and also try to not kill every enemy that spawns. This will eventually force a Toxic Matron to appear. Defeat her to gain Fungal Sight.
3. Get Subjugating Mindspore
With Fungal Sight you can now see the invisible stairs inside the Fungal Chasm room. Head to the left of the room and jump onto the green mist in this area. Follow the mist to the little area on the left. Interact with Subjugating Mindspore to acquire it.
4. Collect Timeward Seal
When you have the Subjugating Mindspore enter the Cursed Castle Wing of the Nowhere Vault. Complete its challenges and the last room will be the Prison of the Unrepentant. Once you enter the room, the Subjugating Mindspore will activate. Find the Physical Escape in one of the adjacent rooms and interact with it to obtain a Timeward Seal.
5. Break the Seal
Enter the Sage’s Trove in the Nowhere Vault and interact with one of the three Seals to break it! This concludes the A Cage that Shines Rumor and rewards you with five Wondrous Nowhere Keys. Breaking all three Seals will also unlock the Ancient Direnni Quasigriff mount in your Collections.
