ESO Figures of Note Rumor
Figures of Note is a Rumor in ESO that belongs to the “Plot” category. Rumors are a special type of quests in The Elder Scrolls Online that offer no quest markers or HUD assistance.

“A historian seeks to learn the fates of renowned individuals. Visit the Mages Guild guildhalls in Valenwood to learn more.“
How to Complete the Figures of Note Rumor
To start this rumor visit the Mages Guild in Velyn Harbor, Malabal Tor, and read the “Unknown Fates” note on the wall near the entrance. The note asks you to discover the fate of four renowned individuals and points you in the right direction:
- Raynor Vanos, in an academy northeast of Mournhold.
- Elder Elsaril, in the Hollow City.
- Heem-Jas, in southwestern Shadowfen.
- Captain Kaleen, on the Wrothgar coast.
1. Raynor Vanos Clue in Deshaan
The academy Northeast of Mournhold is Shad Astula. To visit this academy, you need an invitation first, so this is quite an exclusive area in ESO! Luckily you do not have to visit the academy to find Raynor Vanos’s clue. Head to the small island South of the academy, North of the Lagomere Dolmen and interact with the Carved Stone there.
2. Elder Elsaril Clue in The Hollow City
The Hollow City is the capital of the Coldharbour zone! Teleport there and head to the Luxury Vendor location in the Eastern part of the city. Interact with the Black Soul Gem in the vendor’s cart to obtain this clue.
3. Heem-Jas Clue in Shadowfen
To find the clue about Heem-Jas, head to Southwestern Shadowfen. Search around the Chid-Moska Ruins Delve area to locate a Golden Skull. Interact with the skull to obtain the clue.
4. Captain Kaleen Clue in Wrothgar
Finally, head to Wrothgar to locate the final clue about Captain Kaleen! South of the Poacher’s Encampment World Boss location, you will find an Ornate Scabbard. Interact with the Scabbard to collect the clue.
5. Deliver your Findings
When you collect all four clues, return to the Mages Guild in Velyn Harbor. Place the items inside the Renowned Individuals Exhibit to solve this Rumor!
