Soulframe Factions
Factions in Soulframe are organizations you can join and assist in their effort to restore Alca! By completing tasks for them, you earn reputation and valuable rewards for your Envoy!
What are the Factions
The Soulframe Factions are basically organizations you can join while adventuring around Alca. There are three factions you can join:
- Alca’s Children
- Kith of King
- Silent Rose
All three factions have the same goal. To get rid Alca of Ode’n invaders. There is no competition between the available factions.
How to Join a Faction
When you start the game, you have the option to pick your Starter Pact and Faction. Depending on your choice you will receive a Faction Talisman:
- Medallion of Mora for Kith of Kings
- Rose’s Bodkin for Silent Rose
- Spoutfolk Seed for Alca’s Children
However the Faction system is still locked. You must complete “The Tormented Stag” Fable to unlock it. Only then you will be able to travel to your Faction’s Enclave and start accepting their missions or Votives, called “Tales”. You can later change your Faction if you wish!
How Factions Work in Soulframe
When you visit your Faction’s enclave, you can talk to the leader and see your standing with them. There are five(5) Ranks you can unlock as you gain more standing. Each Rank offers a variety of items that you can claim as a ranking up reward or buy with your Faction Standing. These items include Pacts, Virtue Prisms, Weapon and Armor you can craft with Tuvalkane the Blacksmith, Dracs, Sacred Shimmer and more.
How to Earn Faction Standing
To earn Standing with your Faction, you need to complete Faction Tales or Votives! Votives are basically quests with a single or multiple tasks, depending on their difficulty. You can find a selection of Votives by interacting with a World Tree. Votives are divided in categories:
- 1 Star
- 2 Star
- 3 Star
- Special Missions
Three(3) Star Tales have multiple tasks you must complete and often offer two different paths you can follow. Tales can take you around the Overland or underground, inside a Dungeon like the Undercity! Their difficulty varies, depending on the place of the map where the World Tree is located and on how many Stars they have. Once you accept and complete a Votive from a Tree, faction representatives can also spawn to offer you more Votives to choose from!
Special Missions include activities like Sieges, The Crypt, The Organ or Hark the Collector encounters. Another way to earn Faction Standing is by Enclave Favors. Enemies can drop Enclave Favors that you can exchange for standing with each Enclave Representative.
The Factions system is the core gameplay of Soulframe, that offers access to their Enclaves, which also work as player Hubs. The Enclaves are the only locations in the game where you can meet other players that are not in your party.
