Soulframe Virtues
Virtues in Soulframe define the potential of your character and will help you enjoy the game more. By picking the right Virtue Prism, you increase the capabilities of your envoy and can follow specific paths easier.
What are Virtues
Virtues are basically the Stats or Attributes of your character in Soulframe. There are three available Virtues to choose from:
- Courage
- Spirit
- Grace
Courage is the main Virtue for health scaling, Spirit for magick damage, and Grace for stability and critical hits. Pacts and their abilities also benefit from a certain Virtue more than the rest.
How Virtues and Prisms Work in Soulframe
Virtue Prisms determine how Virtues are distributed across Courage, Spirit and Grace. Prisms focus on different Virtues. Some focus on one Virtue while others split your points between two or even all three of them. Picking the right Prism allows you to pursue a pure Courage, Spirit, Grace Build or split your points to two or even all three of them. As you level up, the equipped Prism controls the ratio of that growth.
How Many Virtue Prisms Types there are?
There are a few different Virtue Prisms types you can get. These are:
- Starter Virtue Prisms
- Hybrid Virtue Prisms
- Extreme Virtue Prisms
- Wyld Virtue Prisms
Extreme and Wyld Virtue Prisms focus strongly on one only Virtue while the Starter Prisms slightly focus towards one Virtue. Hybrid on the other hand focus between two Virtues.
How to Get Virtue Prisms in Soulframe
You can get Virtue Prisms from a variety of sources. When you pick your first Pact, you will receive a Starter Virtue Prism. Further Starter Prisms are acquired by discovering the Faction Enclaves.
You can get Extreme and Hybrid Virtue Prisms from their Virtue-aligned Faction Enclave. Kith of King offers Courage based Prisms, Alca’s Children offers Spirit based Prisms and Silent Rose offers Grace based Prisms.
Finally you can get Wyld Virtue Prisms by purchasing the appropriate Soulframe Founders! To get all available Virtue Prisms you will have to change Factions a couple times!
How Virtues affect Weapons and Armor
Weapons and Armor now have Virtue attunements! Which means that picking a Virtue Prism, also determines how effective you can use certain Weapons and Armor Sets. Weapon Types now have standardized Virtue attunements and requirements.
- Spirit is attuned to Magick Weapons
- Courage is attuned to Long blades, Greatswords, Polearms and Shields
- Grace is attuned to Bows, Flyblades and Short Blades
Several Weapons have split-scaling capabilities which means that they benefit from more than one Virtue.
Armor also has standardized Virtue requirements now:
- Spirit is attuned to light armor
- Courage is attuned to heavy armor
- Grace is attuned to medium armor
Like with weapons, some armor pieces also have split-scaling capabilities. So, picking the right Virtue Prism, affects your offense and defense in Soulframe.
More Ways to increase your Virtues
Your primary way to increase your Virtue is by leveling up with your Character. However there are a few more ways you can increase your Virtues. These are:
- Gain a passive base increase from specific Pacts
- Unlock Virtue passives skills on the Pact you are using
- Increase your Virtue by wearing certain items
- Offer a song while exploring the World to gain a temporary boost to a Virtue
