Bethesda Game Studios Future Plans
Bethesda is a beloved Game Developer known for some of the biggest and most popular franchises in the industry! Bethesda is also known for its secrecy when it comes to its future projects. But things change and everyone, no matter how successful they are, eventually have to evolve and adapt.
Bethesda Game Studios has released an official announcement earlier today(July 17th, 2026) revealing everything they plan for the future! The massive Xbox layoffs of July 6th 2026 obviously had a role to play in today’s announcement from Bethesda. Regardless the reason, it is a pleasant surprise to hear about our favorite titles early!
Bethesda Future Games and Releases
The prevalent sentiment of the announcement is that of love! Love for the games but also the players that make them feel alive. They are all “More than just games, these are worlds.” The goal from now on is to bring teams closer, so they can get games on players hands faster, support them longer and continue building them for decades to come.
Fallout
The world of Fallout is Bethesda’s biggest priority right now with Fallout 5 being in preproduction! Fallout 76 will continue receiving updates with its next major expansion, “Raven Rock”, coming next year. This is basically a prequel to Fallout 3.
Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas Remasters are also in development, so players can experience previous titles of this beloved franchise one more time. Fallout Shelter is a popular version of the Fallout universe with new Seasons coming but also an unscripted television project in the works from Amazon Studios and Kilter Films.
Elder Scrolls
Everyone is waiting for The Elder Scrolls VI, which is being developed on Creation Engine 3, along with Fallout 5! The Elder Scrolls VI is Bethesda’s primary development focus according to the announcement but there is no ETA for its arrival yet.
Starfield
The Starfield Saga continues! The plan is to expand the Settled Systems with new stories, targeted gameplay improvements, and additional updates, while preparing for the launch of new Starborn content next year.
Studio Collaboration
Bethesda Game Studios and Obsidian Entertainment will team up once again to create new stories and worlds on a new, unknown for now, Fallout project.
Zenimax Online Studios will partner closely with Bethesda Game Studios on The Elder Scrolls franchise, while continuing to deliver incredible new experiences for my beloved The Elder Scrolls Online.
