Soulframe Runes

Runes are powerful progression items in Soulframe, that can help you create a strong Envoy, along with Totems. By applying the right Runes and Totems to your weapons, you unlock strong effects that will help you defeat every enemy.

What are Runes

Runes are powerful items that you can equip to your Weapons to unlock new effects and deal more damage with your selected Pact. There are several types of Runes in Soulframe:

• Archstorm for Magic Weapons
• Alca’s Breath for Bow Weapons
• Everflame for Greatsword and Longblade Weapons
• Emberaught for Dagger Weapons
• Hurlwind for Flyblade Weapons
• Torcheternal for Polearm Weapons
• Forburn for Shield Weapons

How to Get Runes

You can acquire Runes by defeating the several Word Bosses of Soulframe. These Bosses are tough enemies with powerful attacks, that have a chance to drop a Rune along with other valuable items when you defeat them. Runes can drop from these Bosses:

• Hurlwind (Flyblade): Discharged Nimrod
• Emberaught (Dagger): Ethelred The Weaver
• Archstorm (Magicks): Wraith of Wastes
• Everflame (Greatsword): Siege Castellans and Mendicant King
• Forburn (Shield): Sinecure-Errant Gawth and Thrice-Bound Impidh
• Alca’s Breath (Bow): Gruul Seeker Ruthos
• Everflame (Longblade): Knell Knight
• Torcheternal (Polearm): Kabocha

While under the influence of The Cogah, players can also obtain the following Runes:

• The Durglint (Shield): Sinecure-Errant Gawth
• The Torrent (Bow): Gruul Seeker Ruthos
• The Flitsmoke (Dagger): Ethelred The Weaver
• The Hollowing (Magicks): Wraith of Wastes
• The Mistgale (Longblades): Knell Knight
• Treefell (Greatsword): Castellan or Mendicant King
• Splitbolt (Polearm): Kabocha
• Picktrix (Flyblade): Discharged Nimrod
• Everflame (Greatsword): Siege Castellan or Mendicant King
• Hurlwind (Flyblade): Discharged Nimrod
• Forburn (Shield): Thrice-Bound Impidh
• Everflame (Longblades): Ode’n Hound
• Torcheternal (Polearm): Kabocha

How Runes work in Soulframe

When you acquire a Rune, you can place it to a weapon of your choice(as long as its type is compatible). When you smite an enemy you store a Rune Charge. You can store up to 4 charges at the same time, depending on your rune’s rank. To activate your runes and use your charges hold Spectral Sight and perform a fully charged Heavy attack. Runes also unlock an extra Totem Slot, based on their type. You can upgrade your Runes by using Harmony!

What are Totems in Soulframe

Totems are additional progression items, that you can equip to your weapon totem slots. They represent the animals of Soulframe and these are their types:

• Beaver
• Deer
• Duck
• Rabbit
• Rat
• Squirrel

How to Get Totems

You can acquire Totems in two ways:

1. When you see an animal nearby, use Soul Mode and a Light Attack to charm it. This action brings forth a mini-game. Play a song with your flute to charm the animal and receive its totem. This is how you can earn Harmony reliably as well.
2. Rescue Animals from cages around the world.

How Totems Work in Soulframe

When you acquire a Totem, it gets a random type and name. So a Rabbit Totem can be compatible with a Sword, a Bow or any other type of weapon. However this certain type will offer the same bonuses to any weapon with a small difference to numerical values.

You can place the same totem in every slot of a weapon, as long as you have enough of them. You can also upgrade your Totems with Harmony, like you do with Runes. Totems that you have equipped to your Weapons are always active. You do not need to smite an enemy to activate their effects.
