Soulframe Fishing
Fishing in Soulframe is a relaxed lifestyle activity that grants a variety of rewards and also assists with your Wolfpup Training! Fishing is available with Preludes 16 and will continue expanding in future updates.
How to Start Fishing
Before you can start fishing, you need to locate one of the three Finner Shrines around the map. You can find them in:
- The Lakeside South of Sidae’s Stake
- The Swamp of Birdie’s Bog
- The Shoreline near Heedoway
Interact with any of those shrines to accept an introductory Votive. Complete this short votive to obtain your fishing gear and catch your first fish.
How Fishing Works
Head to a body of water and equip Doyan’s Spool via the Gear Wheel. Use your starter Lure, or press “X” to select a more appropriate one. Press your primary input and release to throw your wisp hook. Line up the indicators so fish can bite faster.
When a fish bites, press your primary input again to start the mini-game. Use left and right to tire the fish, always pulling against its movement while reeling it toward you. When it jumps out of the water, reel to stun it. Keep reeling it toward you, but ease up if the line turns red or you will break it and lose your Lure!
Fishing Rewards
When you catch a fish you can choose to either keep or release it. Keeping a fish gives you materials for creating Wolfpup treats and other items, while releasing it rewards you with Harmony and crafting materials based on the fish’s rarity. Catching Fish also increases your Angler level, making it easier to catch rarer fish.
Fishing Lures
Completing the intro Votive will give you your fishing gear including a starter Lure. You can use this Lure anywhere, and you will not lose it if your line breaks. However, to catch rarer fish, you will need to use more appropriate Lures. You can get those from opening chests inside Dungeons!
Fish Types
There are currently six types of fish available. Not all of them appear in the same area, so if you wish to catch them all you will have to fish in swamps, the shoreline and the lakes of Alca. The difficulty of catching each fish depends on its level of corruption.
