Getting your first Mount in Soulframe is an important milestone! Mounts allow you to travel faster around Midrath while also introducing an additional progression system. To obtain your first Mount, you must first help Orengall and raise one of her Wolfpups!

Shewolf Snared Fable

To obtain your first Mount, you must complete the “Shewolf Snared” Fable. Find Orengall near Vertonn and rescue her from her captors! Follow this fable to help Orengall rescue her wolfpups from the Ode.

As a reward, you can choose one of her three Wolfpups to join you in the Nightfold! You can pick between Ciar, Cathal and Cuan, but choose carefully because this decision is permanent! When you invite the Wolfpup in your Nightfold you can start training it!

Wolfpup Training

Wolfpup training is the first step into obtaining your first mount. Summon your Wolfpup via the Gear Wheel while you adventure around Midrath to train it and earn stat points. Wolfpups have five available stats that you can level up:

• Guts: Increases stability and grants Courage.
• Speed: Increases movement speed.
• Endurance: Increases maximum life and grants Grace.
• Curiosity: Helps you find rarer items from rare chests.
• Heart: Increases the healing effect of casts and elixirs while granting Spirit.

Performing specific activities while your Wolfpup accompanies you will unlock points for specific stats. For example, fighting enemies with your pup nearby unlocks Guts points, while collecting items and opening chests helps you unlock Curiosity points.

Whenever you unlock a stat point, you can choose whether to allocate it or save it for later. This allows you to prioritize the stats you want and customize the buffs your Wolfpup provides.

You can also play fetch with your Wolfpup and pet it to strengthen your bond. Your companion will stay around until its energy runs out, after which it will return to the Nightfold to rest and replenish its energy.

There are two types of treats available: Kibble and Biscuit. Kibble grants them energy, while Biscuit temporarily boosts your Wolfpup’s Training progress. You can use them via the Gear Wheel. You can create the treats with Verminia’s help but you will need special materials that you can only get via Fishing.

You can allocate a maximum of 15 stat points to your Wolfpup. Once all 15 points have been allocated, its training is complete, and you can prepare to transform it into a Mount.

However, there is one more requirement! Before you can transform your Wolfpup, you must clear two Midrath regions of corruption by completing Votives and destroying their Syphons. Once you complete these objectives, you will receive a Bairnday Biscuit treat.

Transform your Wolfpup into a Mount

When your Wolfpup has completed its training and you have obtained the Bairnday Biscuit, you can finally transform it into a Mount! Select the Bairnday Biscuit from your Gear Wheel and feed it to your Wolfpup to transform it into a glorious Mount.

You can summon your Mount while adventuring and ride it to travel faster, or have it accompany you while walking or sprinting. Your Mount will not assist you in combat and will return to the Nightfold when you engage the Ode.

Mounts retain the stats you have allocated to them while in a Wolfpup state. If you are not happy with your selected stats, you can use a Follyfrond treat to revert your Mount back into a Wolfpup and resume training. You will retain all previously unlocked stat points, allowing you to choose which ones to allocate and continue progressing.
