To unlock Lyle Brewer as a Companion you will have to hire him. Lyle is sitting in Aggie’s Bar in Akila City, waiting for someone to offer him a Crew job! Talk to him and he will offer to join your Crew for 18,000 Credits. You can try to negotiate a better price if you wish!
Once you agree to the price and pay him, he will join your crew and you can assign him to your Ship or one of your Outposts. You can also bring him along with you in your exploration trips. He can fight well with a Shotgun and is a reliable combat Companion.
