A Hunter build in Starfield that is using Ballistic weapons to hunt down Alien Wildlife and extract rare resources. The Build is strong enough to fight Human enemies as well.

The Best Background for the Beast Hunter Build is the Beast Hunter Background! Backgrounds are basically starter classes in Starfield, that offer access to a set of three novice skills. Picking the right background for your build will help you become more efficient at your role early in the game.
The Background gives access to the following skills:
- Fitness
- Ballistics
- Gastronomy
The Fitness and Ballistics skills are excellent for the role of Beast Hunter! Fitness increases your oxygen, allowing you to perform more actions while Ballistics boosts the damage of all Ballistic Weapons. With Gastronomy you can research and create better Food and Drinks, putting the resources you extract from your prey to good use! Some good alternative Backgrounds are:
- Soldier
- Xenobiologist(if you wish to focus on Lasers)
Best Traits for Beast Hunter Build in Starfield
We are spending most of our time on the surface of planets, so getting the right traits that increase Health and Oxygen is out top priority! The Best Traits for the Beast Hunter Build are:
- Alien DNA
- Terra Firma
- Introvert or Extrovert
- Wanted
- Empath(if you bring Companions along)
- Faction and Religious
Alien DNA boosts Health and Oxygen but reduces the effectiveness of healing and food items. Terra Firma will boost your Health and Oxygen when on the ground. Introvert boosts Oxygen when adventuring alone while Extrovert boosts Oxygen when adventuring with Companions. Wanted offers a boost to damage when you are low on health, which can be helpful when fighting a pack of alien creatures or dealing with a strong prey. Empath will increase the fighting performance of your Companions, if they like you. If they do not like you they will not be as effective though.
Finally you can pick any Faction specific or Religious specific Trait, if you wish to build up your relationship with one of their corresponding groups. You can only have one of those Social focused Traits in the game active. One for Factions and one for Religions.

Commerce will help you make credits in Starfield by selling all the items you are looting! Gastronomy assists with creating better Food and Drinks. Pick Isolation or Leadership to further boost your capabilities, depending on whether or not you have Companions with you. Xenosociology allows you to manipulate alien creatures, forcing them to flee or fight their allies! Can be a useful skill to have when fighting packs of hostile wildlife.

Ballistics is a core skill for the Build that will further increase our damage. We are focusing on Rifle and scoped weapons to deal most damage from medium to large distance. This is why we unlock the Rifle Certification, Sniper Certification and Sharpshooting skills. Rapid Reloading reduces the time it takes to reload our weapon and increases our combat efficiency. Keeping our distance from the targets is the best strategy to kill them fast and without risking any damage.
Science Skills
- Medicine(Novice)
- Zoology(Advanced)
- Weapon Engineering(Advanced)
- Spacesuit Design(Advanced)
- Chemistry(Expert)
Medicine boosts the effectiveness of Med Packs and will keep you alive. Zoology assists with harvesting more rarer resources from creatures. Weapon Engineering will help you create better Weapon mods to add to your weapons! Spacesuit Design will do the same for your Spacesuit. Chemistry allows you to create chems to further boost your character.
Tech Skills
- Boost Pack Training(Novice)
Boost Pack Training is not a priority skill for the build but can help with moving around and fighting hostiles. You can unlock and use any other skill in the game to enrich the build and make it more personal!
Best Weapon for Beast Hunter Build in Starfield
The Build relies on Ballistic Weapons for maximum damage and range. Rifle is our weapon of choice, since it can deal significant damage and use scopes to strike from distance. Early in the game you can use a Grendel or a Maelstrom. You can later upgrade to Drum Beat, Tombstone, AA-99 and Magshear. You can even use Unique Rifles like the Revenant!

You can keep another Rifle as secondary weapon with a Short Scope or Reflex Sight to engage enemies close to you more efficiently.

The Best Armor for the Beast Hunter Build is the Antixeno Spacesuit! Antixeno offers a full set of Body Armor, Helmet and Pack that reduce damage from alien enemies and use a Med Pack automatically when you are hit while low on Health. These Perks make the Antixeno Armor pieces the best option for an alien wildlife hunter! To maximize your potential you can add the following Mods.
Antixeno Armor:
- First Slot – Shielding of your choice
- Second Slot – Optimized Servos(reduces oxygen cost for sprinting)
- Third Slot – Heavy Shielding(increases all damage resistance)
- Fourth Slot – Gravitic Composites(reduces detection from enemies) or Pocketed(increases carrying capacity)
Antixeno Helmet:
- First Slot – Shielding of your choice
- Second Slot – Sensor Array(increases the range for enemy detection on the compass)
- Third Slot – Heavy Shielding(increases all damage resistance)
- Fourth Slot – Gravitic Composites(reduces detection from enemies)
Antixeno Pack:
- First Slot – Oxygen Reserve(extra oxygen capacity)
- Second Slot – Regeneration(slowly regenerates health outside of combat) or Medic(aid items restore additional health and heal more quickly)
- Boostpack – Balanced Boostpack(boostpack with balanced power output)

The Best Power for the Beast Hunter Build is Alien Reanimation! This power resurrects a dead alien to fight by your side. A few more powers you can use are:

How to Play the Beast Hunter Build in Starfield
Beast Hunter is a normal hunter build in Starfield that tracks down and attacks Alien wildlife. Stay undetected and attack from distance with your powerful Rifle. Move around fast and sprint from cover to cover while taking hostiles down. Your spacesuit offers good protection from Alien enemies and can help you heal fast in case of an emergency.
