How to Unlock Powers in Starfield

To unlock the powers you will have to advance the game’s main quest-line. After you complete the first two missions, “One Small Step” and “The Old Neighborhood“, you will receive three more missions to complete in any order. One of those missions is “Into the Unknown“. Into the Unknown will send you to examine an anomaly that appears on the scanner. Visit “The Eye” space station and talk to Vladimir first, then head to the planet where the anomaly appears. Use your hand scanner to find it. When you face towards the right direction, you will notice a distortion on the hand scanner. Ignore points of interest on the surface(including gravitational anomalies) and head towards the distortion.

When you get closer to your destination, you will receive a point of interest mark for Temple Eta. Approach and enter the Temple. Inside you will find a structure that will activate the moment you enter and an entity of light. Move towards the entity and fly through it a few times. The structure will start spinning faster until it creates a portal. Pass through the portal and you will unlock your first power “Anti-Gravity Field“. Return to the Lodge and show off your new power to complete the mission. You will now get the “Power from Beyond” mission that allows you to find and unlock all available powers in Starfield.

Visit “The Eye”, talk to Vladimir to get the new location and go there to repeat the process and unlock a new power. Rinse and repeat for the remaining powers. Some powers are locked behind Main missions, so you will have to do those to unlock them. Also after you unlock a few powers you will have to fight an enemy when you unlock a new power.

What are the Best Powers in Starfield

Powers are useful abilities that can help you deal with enemies or complete a task faster. Some of these powers are better and will help you more than the rest though. These are the 10 Best Powers in Starfield:

  1. Grav Dash
  2. Parallel Shelf
  3. Phased Time
  4. Reactive Shield
  5. Supernova
  6. Precognition
  7. Life Forced
  8. Gravity Well
  9. Void Form
  10. Sense Star Stuff

Grav Dash is an amazing power that allows you to dash forward but also boosts your damage. Great power for almost every Combat oriented Build in Starfield.

Parallel Shelf creates a clone of yourself that is using the same gear with you and can dish out massive damage.

Phased Time slows down time, allowing you to deal with enemies at your own pace!

Reactive Shield is a superb defensive ability that protects you from attacks and can reflect projectiles back to your attackers. This power will be especially helpful when you fight outnumbered.

Supernova on the other hand is a pure offensive power that deals massive damage in a large area with an explosion.

Precognition is not a combat power. But it is an amazing power since it shows you the outcome of certain dialogue options and allows you to pick the right answer!

Life Forced is a simple power that drains Health from enemies and restores your Health. Can be helpful, especially if you are out of Med Packs to heal yourself.

Gravity Well pulls enemies and crushes them. Great power to use when you need to deal with multiple enemies in an area.

Void Form makes you invisible for some time. Simple and powerful.

Sense Star Stuff reveals enemies and other NPC around you. You can even see them behind walls. It might not sound strong but it is super helpful to know the location of your enemies, especially when playing with a Stealth Build!
