How to Unlock Zerith-Var Companion in ESO
Zerith Var and Tanlorin were introduced to ESO with Update 44 and are available for purchase from the Crown Store or free if you are an ESO Plus Subscriber. To unlock Zerith as a Companion you will have to complete their “A Moonlit Shadow” introductory Quest first. To begin the Quest, head to the Reaper’s March zone and talk to Cantor Krin’ze near the Moonmont Wayshrine.

Zerith shines as a Tank Companion! His support abilities allow him to taunt and hold aggro with ease, buff you and debuff enemies. He is a reliable Tank that might struggle however against tougher Bosses. Use a full set of Heavy Armor to boost his Survivability and defense and a combination of Bolstered and Quickened pieces for reduced damage taken and better Ability cooldowns.

Zerith is not the best Companion to use in a melee Setup. His Scythe ability can deal damage and heal him at the same time but it is his Support skills that offer better assistance in a Stamina DPS role. Wearing a full set of Medium Armor with the Quickened Trait is the best combination for Zerith. Dual Daggers or any type of One Hand Weapons to complete the setup.
