Zerith-Var is a Khajiit Companion, that introduces the Necromancer Class to the Companion System in ESO. Zerith has access to a few nice Support Skills, that allow him to play well as a Tank or Healer. He can also deal decent damage in a ranged setup, if you wish to have him assist you as DPS. How to Unlock Zerith-Var Companion in ESO
Zerith-Var is one of the two Update 44 Companions, that you can purchase from the Crown Store or get for free if you are an ESO Plus Subscriber. To unlock Zerith as a Companion you will have to complete their “A Moonlit Shadow” introductory Quest first. To begin the Quest, head to the Reaper’s March zone and talk to Cantor Krin’ze near the Moonmont Wayshrine.

Below you can find Zerith Builds for every role in ESO! Zerith is a Necromancer Companion with access to a few great Support abilities. His skill set allows him to fulfill support roles with success and assist you in combat. Thanks to his ranged Necromancer Class skills, he can also deal decent damage from distance, as a Mage or Bow user. To maximize his potential you can wear the amazing Telvanni Efficiency Crafted Set when you adventure with Zerith-Var. This Set reduces the cooldown of Companion abilities by 50% and allows you to experiment with more Companion Gear Traits!
ESO Zerith-Var Tank Build
Zerith shines as a Tank Companion! His support abilities allow him to taunt and hold aggro with ease, buff you and debuff enemies. He is a reliable Tank that might struggle however against tougher Bosses. Use a full set of Heavy Armor to boost his Survivability and defense and a combination of Bolstered and Quickened pieces for reduced damage taken and better Ability cooldowns.

ESO Zerith-Var Healer Build
Zerith has access to a dedicated Healing skill line, which allows him to be a good Healer Companion as well. He can provide Heals and support with Buffs and debuffs. Use a full set of Light Armor with a combination of Soothing and Quickened pieces for better healing done and better ability cooldowns.

ESO Zerith-Var Magicka DPS Build
Thanks to his ranged Necromancer abilities, Zerith can perform well as a Magicka DPS Companion as well. He can assist you from distance with Fire damage, buffs and debuffs. Equip him with a full Set of Medium Armor for better damage and Quickened Traits. Use a Fire Staff.

ESO Zerith-Var Stamina DPS Build – Dual Wield
Zerith is not the best Companion to use in a melee Setup. His Scythe ability can deal damage and heal him at the same time but it is his Support skills that offer better assistance in a Stamina DPS role. Wearing a full set of Medium Armor with the Quickened Trait is the best combination for Zerith. Dual Daggers or any type of One Hand Weapons to complete the setup.

Likewise, Zerith is not the best option as a Two Handed Stamina DPS either. Use a full set of Medium Armor with the Quickened Trait if you wish to set him up like this. You can use any type of Two Handed Weapon.

Zerith Var is a great Support Companion that can play well as Tank or Healer! Thanks to his buffs and debuffs, he can assist you in fight with success. The Best Build for Zerith-Var in ESO is that of a Tank Companion! Zerith has access to a few nice support skills that boost his defense, heal him and debuff enemies. This allows him to taunt and hold aggro easily. He can also play well as a Healer Companion or ranged DPS(Magicka or Stamina with a Bow), thanks to his Necromancer Class ranged abilities. His Racial Passive “Third Moon’s Chosen” decreases ability Cooldown and increase Health, which further amplifies his role as a Tank Companion!
