Soulframe Beginner Guide
This Soulframe Beginner Tips and Tricks Guide will help you enjoy the game more and understand its core systems faster! Soulframe is an amazing game that offers interesting gameplay to players. Beautiful but rather complicated at first with little to almost no guidance. The following Beginner Tips will teach you the core Soulframe Systems and help you start your Journey with success!
1. Follow your Sparrow!
Your Sparrow is your guide and best friend in Soulframe! Whenever you feel lost, summon your sparrow and follow it. The Sparrow leads you to the nearest objective or point of interest. At the moment this basically means getting you to the nearest Faction Tale!
2. Use Soul Mode Often.
Use your Soul Mode often. It highlights interactable items around you and is important for core systems like Smiting enemies or collecting Motes. The Soul Mode can also help you find Faction Tales NPC givers faster.

3. Reveal the Map.
When you first start the game, your map is covered with fog. To reveal it, you must find and interact with World Trees! World Trees are easy to distinguish, thanks to their withered look and a spear stuck in them. Search around for the Tress and reveal your map for better navigation.
4. Translate Location Names.
When you reveal your map start working on translating location names. At first, every location and point of interest has its name written in a foreign language. Collect Motes to translate their name! Search around in the area for floating lights and collect them with Soul Mode plus a Light Attack. Collecting Motes translates letters of the location’s name. Not all Motes required to translate a name will be around. You will have to relog or wait a full Day and Night in-game cycle to collect all necessary Motes for a location.
5. Unlock the Blacksmith Early!
Tuvalkane the Blacksmith is an important addition to your Nightfold, which is your refuge in Soulframe! Go to the Eastern part of the starter zone as soon as possible to unlock her. Fight all enemies nearby, retrieve the Helmet found there and return to the Blacksmith’s Hearth nearby. This will unlock Tuvalkane in your Nightfold. You can now craft items with her help, to increase your Bond and be able to craft better Weapons, Armor and Pacts later!

6. Pick your Virtue Wisely!
Picking your Virtues wisely is very important. Virtues are the Stats of Soulframe! There are three Virtues you can choose from:
- Courage
- Spirit
- Grace
Every Virtue affects certain aspects of gameplay and will strengthen your character. Pick your Primary Virtue based on the weapons you are using! Weapons are attuned to a specific Virtue in-game. Increasing that Virtue will increase the damage you deal with your weapon. However there is a cap for every weapon. When you reach a certain Virtue threshold, your weapon will not deal more damage. You can then allocate your Virtue points to one of the other two or share them between both.
7. Charm Animals for Totems.
While you roam around the world charm animals to get Totems. When you spot an animal, use Soul Mode plus a Light Attack to charm them. This action will bring forth a mini game, where you have to play some Notes. By playing the notes correctly, you charm the animal and gain its Totem. You can later place Totems to your Weapons to unlock new passive effects, along with Runes that you earn by defeating World Bosses!
8. Smash Everything and the Undercity Dungeon.
Smash everything around to collect resources and Dracs! This is a reliable way to create a stash of materials, that will help you craft a variety of items. Visiting the Undercity Dungeon is the best place to perform this action and collect materials. There are several entrances to the Undercity around the Starter zone. Faction Tales will also lead you there often.

9. Smite your Enemies!
Smite is a powerful execution-like attack that can one shot enemies! When you attack an enemy and they start glowing, this is when you can smite them. While pointing at them use Soul Mode plus a Light Attack! This will kill most enemies and trigger the Rune effects of your weapon, resulting in more damage dealt. Smite is a powerful attack, that you should use every time you have the chance.
10. Unlock your Weapon Skills.
Every time you level up a Weapon you gain five(5) points that you can use to unlock its Combat Arts! Use those points to unlock powerful passive effects for your weapons, that will help you defeat enemies faster. To get the maximum points for a Weapon type, you must level up additional weapons of that type!
