What are the Best Beginners Classes in Baldur’s Gate 3?
The Best Beginners Classes in Baldur’s Gate 3 are Classes with simple gameplay that can be effective when you are dealing with enemies. The Fighter and the Barbarian are two of the Best Classes for Beginners because they both rely on melee to defeat your opponents. The Cleric on the other hand is another easy Class to begin BG3 with, especially if you focus on healing and support spells. These are the 5 Best Classes for Beginners in BG3:
The Fighter is the Best Beginner Class in Baldur’s Gate 3, thanks to its melee gameplay and simple approach to combat! New players will have an easy time understanding this Class and maximizing its potential. Picking the Champion Sub Class at level 3 is the best option for a Fighter if you do not want to add complicated actions in your gameplay. Alternatively you can also pick the Battle Master Sub Class, that will give you access to a few new moves. When you create your character for the first time you will have the option to pick a Fighting Style. Melee combat styles like Great Weapon Fighting, offer a simple and straightforward gameplay that will help you progress in the game with ease.
Another potent melee Class with fun and easy gameplay. Barbarian is powerful in melee and very fun to use to smash your opponents. Berserker is the best Sub Class to pick if you are new to the game. This Sub Class turns your Rage into Frenzy and allows you to use a few more actions against enemies. Additionally thanks to their Unarmored Defense feature, Barbarians add their Constitution modifier to their Armor Class when they are not wearing Armor! Which makes it easier to equip them, at least early in the game.
The Cleric is a great introduction to Spellcaster Classes in Baldur’s Gate 3. Casting Spells in BG3 is in general more complicated than smashing heads with your melee weapons, so it is logical to feel overwhelmed with a spell caster Class if it is your first time playing one. The Cleric though, makes it easier to understand Spell mechanics and become familiar with this type of gameplay. Picking the Life Domain Sub Class and focusing on Heals and Support spells for your party is the best way to setup your first Cleric in BG3!
The Rogue is another easy Class to begin your BG3 adventures with! Rogues rely on stealth and staying hidden to increase their effectiveness, which might be complicated at first. But with some practice you will understand how the whole “hiding and striking from the Shadows” Rogue mechanic works and take advantage of their massive sneak damage with melee or ranged weapons. The Thief Sub Class is the best to pick, since it is focusing more on the Rogue’s mobility. The Assassin Sub Class is a nice second option that requires a better understanding of the Class though.
Finally the Warlock is another good option to become familiar with Spells but also melee combat, since it is working as a melee-spell caster hybrid! The Fiend Sub Class is the best for the Warlock because it offers mostly offensive spells that make it easier to attack and defeat enemies.
