ESO Update 46

Update 46 brings some amazing new features and systems to ESO, including Subclassing and the new zone of Solstice! Along with those, New Sets, New Houses and Quality of Life improvements shape the future of the game in 2025 and beyond!

Subclassing!

Subclassing is the highlight of the Update! An amazing new system that allows you to mix and match skill lines from all available ESO Classes(as long as you have access to them)! With Subclassing you can combine skills from your favorite classes and create the Build of your dreams in order to tackle your favorite content with ease and style.

To unlock the system, one of your characters has to be level 50! Then you can accept the “A Study in Discipline” Quest from the Crown Store and meet Bahtra at-Hunding in Reaper’s March. This is a short intro quest to Subclassing, that you will have to complete with every character you wish to utilize the system. The Class you pick when you create your character is your Build’s main Class for identity purposes. Subclassing has a few limitations:

  • You must always have one Skill line from your main Class(can keep up to two)!
  • Can combine up to three Classes(including your main).
  • You can pick one only line from other Classes.

However when you unlock a new line from another Class, you can use all of their skills including Active, Passive and Ultimate. The System is account wide, which means that if you have unlocked and leveled up skill lines from other Classes with your alts, you immediately have access to them. You will still have to level up the individual skills you want to use though.

There is no need to create a new character in order to gain access to skill lines from other Classes. You can unlock them with your existing character and start leveling them up. Solstice New Zone

Solstice is the new Zone of ESO! A remote Island in the Southern part of Tamriel with beautiful vistas to admire and interesting enemies to defeat. The zone introduces a new 12-man Trial, Ossein Cage. With Update 46 only the Western part of Solstice will become available. The rest will be revealed in a future update. Sunport is the capital of the zone, where you can find a series of quests to complete as well as new Daily Quests!

New Armor Sets

There are eleven(11) New Armor Sets in Update 46. Four(4) from the Ossein Cage Trial, three(3) Overland Sets, three(3) Crafted Sets(one only available now) and three(3) New Mythic Items. These new Sets are:

New Houses in ESO Update 46

Great news for fans of ESO Housing! With Update 46 three new Houses become available for purchase. These are:

  • a Small Inn Room in The Sleepy Sloth Inn and Pub, in Sunport.
  • Bismuth Steam Baths in Southern Solstice, that you can buy with Gold once you unlock the “Western Solstice Grand Adventurer” achievement.
  • Theater of the Ancestors, Crown exclusive House that you can buy at a later date. This house is located in the Blackwood zone.

Hero’s Return

Hero’s Return is a new welcoming feature, that aims to get returning players up to speed with ESO features and systems. Returning players will gain access to a new Quest that reminds them of ESO key components, receive a new Welcome Back screen and login Rewards, as well as a dedicated Hero’s Return Golden Pursuit.

Furnishing Vault

The Furnishing Vault is an amazing QoL item, available for free to ESO Plus Subscribers! You can place the Vault in your House and use it to store furnishings. Like this you can free up slots from your Bank!

These are the main new features and changes coming to ESO with Update 46 but there are many more as well. With this Update a new Music Box, The Hermit Crab Dance is available, the Map Improvements continue, players receive “Unknown Master Writs” that allow for stackable Master Writs per profession, Housing gets the “Retrieve To” Funcionality, work on Console Addons continues and the Ui is getting modernized!
