ESO Update 48 Features

Update 48 wraps up 2025 for ESO with few only changes and additions! A light Update with no significant combat changes. Which is understandable, since Subclassing was only released a couple updates ago and will take time to offer better balance. Some of the most important additions include the Eastern part of the Solstice zone and the conclusion of the Writhing Wall Event.

Writhing Wall Event and Eastern Solstice

The Writhing Wall Event is coming to an end with Update 48! This community event slowly enters its second and third phases, introducing the Writhing Fortress to ESO. A Public Dungeon instance that each server has to complete to unlock Eastern Solstice. The eastern part of the zone will unlock once the Writhing Fortress is complete for the first time on every server. This public instance will remain active for a Week only after its first completion. If you would like to experience it and unlock all achievements tied to this content you should hurry!

Eastern Solstice introduces new stories and quests, as well as the end of the zone’s main quest. In this area you can also find new enemies and crafting stations for new Armor Sets.

New Armor Sets

There are four new Armor Sets coming to ESO with Update 48! Three Crafted and one Mythic Set. These new Sets are:

Shared Burden is the second Companion oriented Set in the game! It transfers some of the damage you take, to your Companion while they take reduced damage. Additionally, it allows them to revive automatically while in combat. A great support Set for players that enjoy adventuring along with their favorite companions.

Huntsman’s Warmask on the other hand is a Mythic Set that marks a target and lets you do more damage to them but reduced damage to every other enemy around. This effect triggers from Bash or Fully Charged Heavy Attacks.

New Houses in ESO Update 48

Two new Houses are also coming to ESO with Update 48 but they will be available at a later date! These are:

  • Druidspring Conservatory in the zone of High Isle. A Beautiful House that combines Druid and Breton elements for the best results.
  • Cradle of the Worm Colossus in the Solstice zone, that comes with its own Bone Colossus in the premises.

Leaderboard Changes

Going forward Leaderboards will be account based. This means that you will only have one entry in each Leaderboard and it will be the highest score in every activity.

Future Updates

There are a couple interesting additions coming to ESO in 2026, that are worth mentioning. These are:

  • Heart’s Week Event
  • Roseblood Bat Pet

Heart’s Week Event

Heart’s Week is a brand new Event, focusing on Companions! The Event will become available in early 2026 and will offer a Double EXP Bonus for your Companions but also a boost to Rapport Gains. Which make it a great opportunity to level them up, if you have not already. By completing specific activities, you can even earn Companion Gifts, that will help you increase your Rapport with your favorite Companions even faster.

Roseblood Bat Pet Morphable

The Roseblood Bat Pet is the new ESO Morphable for 2026! It will replace the Stonewisp of Truth and Law Pet and will offer four unique morphs through the year. Its first morph is a Recall animation, the Roseblood Wings.

What makes this new Morphable different is that you no longer need to consume the Pet every time you wish to assemble one of its morphs. Because of that, its base fragments will cost ten(10) Event Tickets, instead of five(5).
