How Scribing Works in ESO
Scribing is a gameplay system in ESO, that allows you to customize specific base skills and create abilities that will fit your favorite play style. These Skills are called Grimoires and represent some of the existing Skill lines in the game. Every Grimoire offers a base effect, that suits the skill line it comes from. You can further customize them by adding up to three Scripts to them. There are three types of Scripts in Scribing:

The Focus Script defines the main function of the Skill, the type of damage it will deal and the resource it will cost to cast. The Signature Script adds unique effects to your Grimoire that can further enhance your Focus Script. Finally the Affix Script can add Buffs or Debuffs to your skill in order to complement your Build or ESO Class! To add Scripts to Grimoires you need to use Luminous Ink, a special material that you can find while exploring and defeating enemies.

Wield Soul is one of the Scribing Skills in ESO. This Grimoire represents the Soul Magic skill line, along with Soul Burst, which makes it a great option for every Class or Build. When you use this ability you launch a concentrated blast of soul magic at a target. This is a single target Grimoire that can work as a spammable but also as an execute ability with the right scripts. However is not a good choice if you wish to deal with multiple enemies at the same time. Most Wield Soul Skills have a Magicka Cost, which makes them a good fit for Magicka based Builds. There are a few variations though that can utilize Stamina as their resource cost.

Magical Soul is one of the Best Scribing DPS Skills in ESO, along with Shocking Soul! To create it combine the following Scripts:

4. Chilling Soul Skill
Chilling Soul deals Frost Damage to enemies and is a great alternative if you wish to boost your frost damage and complement your Frost DPS Build in ESO! To create this skill combine the following Scripts:

- Lingering Torment(Signature)
- Breach(Affix)
5. Bloody Soul Skill
Bloody Soul can work well with Bleed DPS Builds as an extra source of Bleed damage! To create this skill combine the following Scripts:

6. Pestilent Soul Skill
Similar to Bloody but Pestilent Soul deals Disease Damage. This makes it a nice option for Disease DPS Builds. To create this skill combine the following Scripts:

7. Sundering Soul Skill
A Physical damage version of this Grimoire that you can use it with Stamina based Builds in PVE or PVP Gameplay. Deal Damage and debuff your target. Sundering Soul is a potent spammable that you can use in a variety of content and in order to create it you can combine the following Scripts:
- Physical Damage(Focus)
- Lingering Torment(Signature)
- Breach(Affix)
8. Healing Soul Skill
With Healing Soul you can heal and buff an ally or yourself in ESO! A pure support skill that Healers can utilize well, that lacks however further utility. To create it combine the following Scripts:

9. Warding Soul Skill

- Lingering Torment(Signature)
- Breach(Affix)
11. Leashing Soul Skill
Leashing Soul is an amazing skill for Tanking but also Crowd Control purposes. This ability pulls enemies to you and generates Ultimate. Tank Builds without an easy access to a pull ability can use Leashing Soul to grab enemies and control the field easily. To create it combine the following Scripts:
- Pull(Focus)
- Anchorite’s Potency(Signature)
- Vitality(Affix)
More Wield Soul Scripts Options
There are many variations of the above skills you can create by picking different scripts. A Damage over Time ability can turn into a powerful Direct damage skill that deals extra Oblivion damage. Or you can add some extra Class specific flavor to your abilities and gameplay with the Class Mastery Script. Some of the extra Signature Scripts you can use with the above abilities include:

Anchorite’s Cruelty transforms part of enemy’s Health to Oblivion damage, increasing your overall DPS while Anchorite’s Potency allows you to generate Ultimate faster. Both can be very useful depending on the content you wish to clear. Class Mastery adds a unique effect based on your ESO Class and Druid’s Resurgence restores Magicka and Stamina, which makes it valuable for Support roles or proper sustain. For the Affix Script you can pick any Buff or Debuff of your choice. Pick an effect that you cannot get normally with other abilities in order to complement your Build and become stronger!
