ESO 2025 Content

ESO and its content strategy are changing in 2025! After a successful first decade, The Elder Scrolls Online is about to shake things up with its new content delivery strategy. Yearly Chapters are no more! New stories, quests, Dungeons and zones will continue to be an integral part of the game but their delivery will change significantly. Part of this strategy is a brand new Content Pass, that players can acquire in order to unlock all year long content!

What to expect from ESO Content in 2025?

2025 is the first year of this new delivery strategy. As ESO transitions away from Chapters, things will look similar at first but gradually change in order to offer a fresh approach. ESO content is now divided in Seasons. Some they can last for an entire year while other might be shorter. This first season is called “Seasons of the Worm Cult“!

ESO Seasons of the Worm Cult

Seasons of the Worm Cult is basically a sequel to the main story line of ESO! The Worm Cult is back for revenge and you will have to stop them from destroying Tamriel! Like with Chapters before, this season introduces a brand new Zone to ESO. The island of Solstice is the new zone of 2025, where the new story takes place. An exotic location, inhabited by a mix of Elves and Argonians, that offers new quests, opportunities and enemies to fight.

Solstice and everything about it is part of the new seasonal content but not everything will release at the same time. The zone is planned for release on June, along with a new 12-man Trial, called Ossein Cage. The Trial is practically a vault that holds a powerful relic. The Trial is planned for a June release but might release later.

Subclassing in ESO

The highlight of the Season is a brand new Gameplay System, called Subclassing! Subclassing is a unique way to mix skill lines from various ESO Classes and create a unique character! With Subclassing you can take two skill lines from other Classes and use their abilities. The main limitation of subclassing is that you will always have to keep one of your original skill lines and that you cannot change your original Class. So if you make a Templar and pick two skill lines from other classes to use, your character will still be a Templar! The system is available with the Base Game and has a great impact to gameplay, since anyone can use it in order to make powerful Subclassing Builds.

Additional ESO Content in 2025

The Season continues in late summer with the introduction of a “Community Goal“! Players will have to work together in order to take down a massive Writhing Wall that divides Solstice in two areas. This Q3 update will have players fighting Worm Cult forces and besieging the wall, so they can access the Eastern Part of the Island.

This approach is similar to Community Goals of the past but unique in its own way. This is mainly because players will have to participate in attacking the Wall or performing other tasks in order to complete objectives. All players will have a chance to assist in the fight, whether or not they have access to Solstice.

In Q3, ESO will also release two more Dungeons with the Feast of the Shadows Dungeon Pack! This will increase the number of Dungeons in 2025 to four, along with the Lep Seclusa and Exiled Redoubt Dungeons that were released in Q1 with the Fallen Banners Dungeon pack!

Finally in Q4, players will get the finale of the season! After taking down the Writhing Wall you will be able to invade Eastern Solstice and defeat the Worm Cult! This last update expands the new zone and brings closure to the “Seasons of the Worm Cult“.

That is not all though for ESO in 2025! Returning players will experience new Welcome Back features, that let them understand new systems faster in the form of quest based rewards. These systems will be tailored to every player and help them get back into pace easily.

ESO Content Pass

The ESO Content Pass is a new way to unlock everything a season has to offer! By purchasing the Content Pass you unlock everything in a Season. All available year-long content, including new zones, systems and Dungeons! The Content Pack of 2025 gives you access to Solstice, the four new Dungeons and everything related to them. Its price is the same as with previous Chapters.

Is the Content Pass different to ESO Plus?

The Content Pass offers access to seasonal new content that is not available with ESO Plus! Like with Chapters before, in order to experience the new story, zone and future systems that might be tied to them, you will have to purchase the content pass! Because of this, ESO Plus and Content Pass are two different systems that have their own value!

ESO 2025 Content Conclusion

ESO in 2025 is changing. In a good way! Content is now divided in seasons that can last as long as a whole year or be shorter. This allows for a more relaxed and flexible story telling, that offers a more robust and wholesome experience. This change also introduces a new Content Pass in ESO, that lets players unlock the entire seasonal content at the same price of a previous Chapter!
