ESO Update 49 Features
Update 49 kick starts ESO Seasons in 2026, with amazing new Systems, Quality of Life improvements and a much needed Class Rework! The Update 49 releases on March 9th 2026 and includes a variety of features, like the Night Market, the Gold Coast Bazaar and Tamriel Tomes!

The most important changes and additions in Update 49 include:

Class Rework Start
The ESO Classes are getting a much needed rework! Every Class will receive updates to their Skills and Visual effects, to offer better balance and role diversity. This process begins in Update 49 with the Dragonknight Class! With this rework, Dragonknights are now dedicated to Fire Damage and have lost all their Poison based skills.
This offers a clearer identity for the Class and makes Pure Class Builds more viable. Dragonknight Subclassing Builds have suffered a bit though, since their best Skills are now in all lines instead of only Ardent Flame!
Two Handed Weapon Rework
Along with the Class Rework, several other skill lines will also receive an update! Update 49 begins this process with the Two Handed Weapon. Two Handed Weapon Skills have received a few changes and a complete overhaul to their Visuals!
ESO Night Market
The Night Market is a Group Event Zone in ESO! A limited time, PVE based Event that takes place in Fargrave. This Event is aimed toward experienced players and Groups. You can join one of the three available Factions and compete against other players for unique rewards, including a House! This Event begins on April 29th 2026 after the release of Season zero. It will last until mid-June and will return again in Winter. It can even become a permanent addition if players like it!
The Gold Coast Bazaar in ESO
The Gold Coast Bazaar is a new in-game storefront in ESO, that lets players purchase new or older unique items in exchange of Trade Bars! Trade Bars is a new currency that replaces Event Tickets in The Elder Scrolls Online. You can acquire it through the Tamriel Tomes Battle Pass and other activities. You can access the Gold Coast Bazaar via the Crown Store UI and pick one of its available Seasonal or Gold Coast Wares rewards.
Tamriel Tomes Battle Pass in ESO
Tamriel Tomes is a Battle Pass system in ESO! It offers three Tiers, one free and two Premium. The free Tier replaces the Endeavors System and Daily Login Rewards! The Tiers progress by completing activities and collecting Points. With the Points you can unlock items from pages in Tamriel Tomes. This is where you can get most of your Trade Bars currency as well.
New Sets
Update 49 also introduces five new Sets to ESO! One PVP Set, three Monster Sets and one Mythic Item. The New ESO Sets are:
- Gorethief, PVP Set
- Glittering Goad, Monster Set
- The Ruckus, Monster Set
- Thousand Eyes, Monster Set
- Shattered Paths Signet, Mythic Item
The Shattered Paths Signet Mythic Item is a ring that increases your damage with Status Effects! A great item for Elemental Builds that rely on specific types of damage.
New Houses
Two new Houses are also coming to ESO with Update 49! These are:
- Buccaneer Bay in Stros M’Kai. A pirate themed House, located on a remote island!
- Night’s Den. A unique House you can get and upgrade by completing activities in the Night market Group Event zone.
More Update 49 Changes
Update 49 also brings a few more changes to the game. With its release, the Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Orsinium and Imperial City DLC will be added to the Base Game. Several Player Experience Improvements will also become available! These include:
- Account-Wide Outfit Slots
- Backbar XP gains
- Bag and Bank Cost Reduction
- Guild Repping
- Guild Trade Listing goes back to 30 days
- Hide Armor options
- Improved Sort Order for Vendors
- Increased Furnishing Slots and Home Recategorization
- Increased Transmute Crystals Cap
- Mimic Stones and Outfit Tokens
- More Mounts for Gold and better Mount Upgrades
- Quicker Crafting Research
- Respec Skills and Attributes in the UI for Free
- Stackable Treasure Maps
- Upgrade Bag in UI
- Vampire and Werewolf Improvements
- Zone Guide Improvements
