Throne and Liberty Beginner Guide

Welcome to my Throne and Liberty Beginner Guide! This guide will show you the best steps you can make early in the game for a smooth and successful experience as a new player. Important Tips that will help you setup your character for Success in TL.

Best Tips for Beginners in Throne and Liberty

There are a few simple but important actions you need to take as a beginner in Throne and Liberty. Actions that will help you level up faster, upgrade your gear and prepare yourself for end game content. The best TL Beginner Tips are:

  1. Focus on the Main Quest!
  2. Unlock Waypoints.
  3. Pick your Main Weapons early.
  4. Unlock Contracts – Daily Quests.
  5. Do events often while leveling up.
  6. Upgrade your Stats!
  7. Join a Guild for Coins!

1. Focus on the Main Quest to Level up faster!

Focusing on the main Quest of the game will help you level up faster in Throne and Liberty! The game offers a gorgeous Open World with several side quests to distract you. While exploring each new area and completing side quests you find along the way may be fun, it will not help you with gaining levels fast. If your goal is to get to the maximum Level as fast as possible, then you should focus on doing Only Main Story Quests or “Purple Quests” from their map icons!

Follow the Purple Quest line!

There are a few different types of Quests in Throne and Liberty:

  • Main Story Quests(Purple)
  • Side Quests(Blue)
  • Contracts(Yellow)
  • Guild Contracts(Green)

The main story Quests offer the best EXP but also valuable materials that will help you upgrade your gear and level up your skills faster. The main Quest Story is divided in Chapters that you can see in your Codex Tab. Each Chapter offers several quests you need to complete before you can move to the next. The final Quest of a Chapter will also reward you with valuable Gear pieces that you can use to strengthen your Character and complement your Build!

Ignore side Quests and focus on the Main Story Quests only! However some Chapters do not unlock immediately when you complete the previous one. Certain Chapters become available after specific levels. In this case return back to lower level areas to complete a few side quests and reach the necessary level for the next Chapter!

2. Unlock Waypoints in Throne and Liberty

Waypoints allow you to teleport back to an area you have visited before(some for a fee, others for free). They also unlock a region of the world on your map, making it easier to plan your next move! Waypoints are valuable for exploration and progress in Throne and Liberty, so always interact with them when you find them.

3. Pick your Main Weapons Early in Throne and Liberty!

There are no Classes in Throne and Liberty! There are weapons you can combine together and create Classes archetypes though. Picking your main weapons early in the game is important for your character’s smooth progression. Upgrading your Weapons can take time and requires materials and Sollant! Additionally every Weapon offers its own unique set of skills that you will also have to level up to become more effective.

Pick your main Weapons early!

While in theory it is possible to unlock and use every weapon in the game, this is harder to do in reality. Mainly because of the time investment and the cost in materials it takes to upgrade your weapon, get the right Traits and level up their skills to their maximum levels. It is possible to swap skills later, as long as you have the appropriate items but early in the game you should invest in your favorite combination of Weapons and learn your preferred play style. Some Weapons are better for Beginners in Throne and Liberty and will make your life a lot easier. The Longbow for example is the easiest weapon for new players, thanks to its strong damage and range!

Another important reason you should pick your weapons early in the game and stick to them, is their Weapon Mastery! Every Weapon in Throne and Liberty has its own unique Weapon Mastery System, that offers access to three skill trees. By playing with a weapon, you gain Weapon Mastery EXP, that you can use to unlock passive abilities for that specific type of weapon. Leveling up Weapon Mastery takes more time but is necessary to unlock new strong passive effects for your character that can complement your preferred play style.

4. Unlock Contracts Daily Quests in Throne and Liberty

Contracts are Daily Quests you can unlock in Throne and Liberty, that reward you with valuable materials, Sollant and Contract coins. You will unlock Contracts by following the main quest of the game. Complete Chapter 2: The Demise of the Grey-Fanged(which happens at around level 11)! The Next Chapter, Chapter 3: Veterans Never Die will send you talk to Noss, the Contract Manager in Castleton. From that point on you can accept Contracts with your character. Contract Managers exist in every major City around TL but you can also find them in smaller settlements, like Sanctuary Oasis.

Contracts are a major part of your daily routine in Throne and Liberty but they are more important after you reach the maximum level. You only get a limited number of Contract Rights per day(how many contracts you can accept every day), so it is better to unlock them but wait until you reach max level to start doing them. Higher level contracts offer better rewards and more contract coins, which are necessary to buy items from Contract Coins Merchants around the world.

5. Participate in Dynamic Events often while leveling up

Dynamic Events is another important part of your daily to do list in Throne and Liberty! Dynamic Events are regional Events that happen every few hours in the game. They are divided in Peace, Cooperative and Dominion(PVP) Events. In Dominion Events players join randomly a team and compete against players of opposing teams in the area. Players participating in a Dominion Event can attack and kill each other! As a new player my advice is to ignore dominion Events but unlike Contracts, you should do every Peace or Cooperative Dynamic Event you can!

Dynamic Events Rewards

You can see which Events are going live soon(and their type) by checking the timetable on your map! Like this you can plan to participate and incorporate Dynamic Events into your leveling and of course Daily Routine. Dynamic Events are very important to do, especially early in the game because of their amazing rewards! By completing Dynamic Events and ranking as high as possible in them, you can earn:

6. Upgrade your Stats!

Stats are important for your character progression in Throne and Liberty! By upgrading the right Stats for your character, you become stronger, can survive harder enemies or can heal your friends better! There are four Stats in Throne and Liberty:

  • Strength
  • Dexterity
  • Wisdom
  • Perception

Dexterity and Perception grant a boost to Damage and Critical Damage, which makes them the most important stats for DPS focused characters. Strength increases your Maximum Health and Health Regen and is vital for Tanks but also melee DPS characters. Finally Wisdom boosts your Maximum Mana and Mana Regen and will help you cast your skills more often without sustain issues.

You gain points as you level up, that you can use to unlock Stats. One point will increase your chosen stat by one, until you reach 30 with them. After that threshold you will need two points to gain one extra Stat. So it is better to level up your two favorite Stats to thirty(30), get a third Stat to nineteen(19) and then use Gear with Stat bonuses to get them higher! As a Beginner in Throne and Liberty allocate more points to Wisdom, so you can cast your skills without issues. You can later reset easily your stats as many times as you like!

7. Join a Guild for Coins as a Beginner in Throne and liberty!

Throne and liberty offers gameplay that you will enjoy more along with your fellow guild members! So joining a Guild is a way to have more fun in the game. A Guild however also offers access to Guild Coins! Guild Coin is a special currency that you get when you donate Sollant or materials to your guild or when you complete Guild Contracts. Guild Coins are special because they allow you to purchase items from Guild Merchants around the game.

Mana Regen Potions but also healing potions are available to buy from Guild Merchants and will help you survive while leveling up. Even if you do not want to join a Guild, you should create your own and level it up to level 2(which is quite easy by simply killing monsters) to gain access to these helpful items!

The above Beginner tips will help you level up faster but also become more efficient by the time you reach endgame PVE or PVP in Throne and Liberty!
