How to Setup your Companion for the Infinite Archive in ESO
Companions in general are not that effective in the role of DPS. So focusing on that role for the Infinite Archive will not be beneficial to you. They can be however great Tanks and Healers. A Companion in a Tank, Healer or a hybrid Support setup can assist you by drawing aggro from enemies, keeping Bosses occupied, buffing you and debuffing targets or even healing you when you are in need.

To progress inside the Archive with a Companion you can use a Solo gameplay dedicated setup! Solo Builds offer great defense, survivability and good damage that can help you survive and defeat stronger enemies. They are helpful for harder content like the Maelstrom Arena, Vateshran Hollows and of course the Infinite Archive! To further boost your survivability inside the Archive, you can even use Dedicated Infinite Archive Builds. To complement your Companions and make them even more efficient, you can also add the Telvanni Efficiency Crafted Set to your Solo Build! This unique Set reduces the cooldown of your living Companions’ abilities and reduces the cost of your Skills when your Companions are down!
Companions Drawbacks in Infinite Archive ESO
While Companions are indeed helpful if you wish to run the Archive alone, they have a few drawbacks you need to know!
- They cannot avoid ground Area of Effects skills the enemies throw at their feet!
- Cannot deal with complex mechanics.
No matter what you do, your Companion will always die when you are facing a Boss with complex mechanics. Companions at the moment cannot deal with this type of gameplay, that requires players to perform specific tasks in order to survive a mechanic. This happens mostly against DLC Dungeon Bosses and Trial Bosses that you will have to defeat at the end of a cycle. Ground AOEs also seem to be the bane of your Companions when you are fighting stronger Bosses inside the Archive. Despite these two drawbacks, Companions can be an asset and provide valuable support against tough enemies.
